2010 Penny Power Grants

In 2010, the Penny Power program supported: 2010 – 1st Quarter $2,000 – Adams Co. Farm Bureau: renewable energy resource kit & support materials. $2,000 – Community Foundation; online grant application & review software. $1,500 – St. Peters Lutheran Church; tuck pointing on church & bell tower. $1,000 – CSE Track Task Force; all-weather track at Central High School. $800 – Boy Scout Troop 35 of Rushville; BBQ grill & gear inventory for a cargo trailer. $700 – Trinity Lutheran Church; family ministry puppet program. 2010 – 2nd Quarter $2,000 – Cheerful Home Childcare; physical development equipment for young children. $800 – Quincy Art Center; Art Mentor Program for K-3. $750 – Quincy Community Theatre; updates to hearing assistance system. $710 – Jackson-Lincoln Swimming Complex; concession stand equipment & locks for lockers. $650 – Clayton Fire District; concrete supplies for new addition. $650 – Universy of Illinois Extension/Schuyler Co.; improvements to food stand at Schuyler Co. Fairgrounds. $500 – The First Tee of Great River; SNAG (Starting New at Golf) equipment for schools, park district programs & youth groups. $500 – American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Adams County; cancer research & education programs. $500 – Quincy Senior High School; Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) program. $500 – Adams Co. Firecrackers 4-H; “Meating the Need” program to benefit Community for Christ Assistance Center. $500 – Adams/Brown 4-H Federation; upgrade 4-H & open goat barn at Adams Co. Fairgrounds. $200 – Camp Point Co-op 4-H; flowers & shrubs for Camp Point Library. 2010 – 3rd Quarter $200 – Barry Food Pantry; food for needy families. $300 – T.T.T. Society; books for students from low income families in Brown & Schuyler counties. $500 – Chaddock School; high efficiency washer/dryer for the new cottage. $700 – Two Rivers Resource Conservation and Development; playground equipment at Longlett Park in Camp Point. $875 – Friends of CUSD #4; food for needy families. $500 – Schuyler County Food Basket; food for needy families. $700 – United Way of Adams County; upgrading the lighting fixtures at their new offices in Quincy. $1,200 – Coatsburg Lions Club; first aid building at the Adams County Fairgrounds. $850 – Quincy Junior High School; SMART interactive response system. $500 – Blessed Sacrement Catholic School; books for a guided reading library. $500 – Central Junior High School PBIS Team; implement and support the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports initiative. $600 – St. Dominic’s School; interactive Smart Board. $750 – Rotary Club of Quincy; frozen turkeys for Salvation Army Christmas food baskets. $500 – Gem City Detachment Marine Corps League; Toys for Tots program 2010 – 4th Quarter $270 – Salvation Army; Thanksgiving dinner for needy families. $415 – Clayton Public Library District; doors for the library. $750 – Big Brothers/Big Sisters of West Central IL; recruitment and background checks. $1,200 – Quanada; computer server hardware for file sharing and security. $1,000 – Community Foundation of the Quincy Area; online grant application software. $800 – Two Rivers Resource Conservation and Development; playground equipment at Longlett Park in Camp Point. $1,500 – Horizons Social Services; food for the soup kitchen and food pantry. $1,500 – St. Brigid Church; kitchen renovations. $1,000 – Retreat House of Ursa; paving parking lot and driveway.
