24 Penny Power Grants Awarded at Reception

Twenty-four Penny Power grants were awarded during a reception at Adams Electric Cooperative on May 6. A total of $8,745.00 was granted to the following groups/organizations:

• Central High School Kitchen – $100 for bun/steamer pans

• Quincy Regional Crime Stoppers – $100 for reward payout fund

• Rushville Public Library – $150 for summer reading program

• Monroe Elementary School – $250 for polyvision board

• Madison Elementary School – $600 for Elmo

• Washington Elementary School – $500 for “Good Habits, Good Readers” kit

• Friends of the Trails – $425 toward cost of building Cedar Creek Trail

• Dewey School – $670 for books for guided reading program

• Madonna House – $300 for meal distribution program

• Schuyler Co.Food Basket – $250 for food pantry

• Schuyler Co. Court House Restoration and Preservation Committee – $500 toward cost of restoring and preserving the court house

• Cheerful Home Childcare – $500 for over-sized bulletin boards

• Payson Elementary K-3 Special Education – $300 for iPad

• Jackson-Lincoln Swimming Complex – $400 toward cost of replacing sand in sand filtration system

• Adams Co. Firecrackers 4-H Club (sponsored by Comm. for Christ Assistance Center) – $150 for “Meating the Need” project

• Village of Mendon – $450 toward lighting tennis and volleyball courts

• IL Great Rivers Conference Camping and Retreat Ministries – $500 for kitchenware at Jensen Woods Camp

• Immanuel Lutheran Church Kids Club – $300 for after school program

• Habitat for Humanity of Cass and Schuyler Counties – $500 toward vinyl siding and installation of siding at home being built in Rushville

• Friends of Unit 4 – $400 for Back to School fair

• Greater West Central Public Library District – $300 to purchase books for e-readers

• Adams Co. Olde Tyme Association – $400 for    metal siding for blacksmith shop

• Unity Middle School – $400 to purchase novel sets for classrooms

• St. Peter School – $300 for Apple TVs
