Adams Electric Cooperative Annual Meeting Postponed

Camp Point – Due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Adams Electric Cooperative’s Board of Directors has postponed the organization’s 2020 Annual Meeting until next year. The Annual Meeting was scheduled for Wednesday, September 9, 2020.

“This is not a decision we take lightly. We’ve been carefully weighing all of our options,” said Roger Busen, Board President. “The health and safety of our membership is of utmost importance and we really appreciate our members’ understanding of this difficult decision.”

There is no contested election this year, which means the three directors up for re-election for District #4, District #5, and District #6 will continue to serve one more year. Then, at the 2021 Annual Meeting, directors for District #4, District #5, and District #6 will be re-elected for an additional two years. The Cooperative will also have an election in 2021 for District #7, District #8, and District #9 for the next three year term to maintain the usual election schedule.

The Cooperative is following the COVID-19 pandemic situation very closely and will continue to monitor recommended practices.

“Our critical business operations have continued throughout the pandemic,” said Jim Thompson, Adams Electric General Manager. “As we continue through this uncertain time, we’re not only looking out for the best interest of our members and the public but also taking careful and necessary steps to ensure the health and well-being of our employees so we can continue meeting the needs of our members.”

As always, Adams Electric Cooperative’s commitment to our members and community remains strong. We will continue to provide safe and reliable electricity.
