Adams Electric Cooperative will hold its 81st Annual Meeting of Members Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at Bailey Park in Camp Point. Due to the current increase in Covid numbers, the meeting will be a DRIVE-THRU EVENT. Registration will begin at 4:00 p.m. and continue until 7:30 p.m. A porkchop sandwich dinner to go for members and immediate family will be served until 7:30 p.m. To speed the process of the drive-thru, members are asked to bring their registration card with barcode from the back cover of their Annual Report (September Adams Outlet). This card will be used for voting and awarding of door prizes.
Jim Ward, Kris Farwell, and Tom Travis, who were up for re-election in 2020 from Districts #4, 5, and 6 will be re-elected for additional two year terms in order to maintain the usual election schedule. The Cooperative will also have an election for Districts #7, 8, and 9 for the next three year term. In District 7, long-time director, Jim Benz, who has provided 21 years of dedicated service to the Cooperative, will be replaced due to term limits. Two candidates are vying to replace Director Benz. Donald Amsler and Rex Niekamp have submitted petitions. In District 8, Board President, Roger Busen after 12 years of dedicated service, has decided not to run for re-election. Glen Koch has submitted a petition for this district. Director Rebecca Barlow, incumbent from District 9 is running uncontested.
Registered members attending the drive-thru meeting will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win one of three $250 bill credits along with several vendor prizes. Names will be drawn the following day and the winners of the prizes will be announced on our website (adamselectric.coop), social media, and in the October Adams Outlet.
