Apple Bars

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup margarine
  • 2 egg yolks beaten
  • 4 medium apples peeled, cored, & sliced
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 Tbsp. milk

Instructions
 

  • Combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Cut margarine in mixture until pea size. Stir in egg yolks. Divide mixture in half. Press 1/2 dough in a 10 x 15 x 1 inch pan. Combine apples, sugar, flour & cinnamon. Arrange these ingredients over the bottom crust. Crumble the remaining crust mixture over the apple mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Cool. Mix powdered sugar, vanilla and milk to make a thin powdered sugar icing. Drizzle over bars.
