Economic Development

Your Cooperative works closely with economic development groups and chambers of commerce to retain, expand and attract businesses to our communities.

Adams Electric has its own revolving loan fund that it uses to provide loans to local businesses.

The Co-op participates in the Rural Economic Development Loan and Grant (REDLG) program through the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). REDLG is a zero interest loan program to help fund local business projects that will create or retain jobs in rural areas.

Adams Electric also supports the Rural Adams Development Corporation’s (RADC) loan program. RADC operates a low-interest, revolving loan fund designed to finance projects which will create or retain jobs in rural Adams County, Illinois. Loan considerations will assess potential markets for a product or service, job growth potential and economic impact.

Adams Electric supports the River Valley Community Development Corporation (RVCDC) which provides assistance to Adams Electric members in Brown and Schuyler counties. They provide both equity and subordinate debt financing and advisory services to businesses. The RVCDC provides machinery, equipment, and real property loan financing to improve competitiveness and maintain or create jobs by modernizing production processes, technology and work organization.
