Country Raisin Gingersnaps

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 cups raisins chopped
  • 3/4 cups shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. ginger
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. cloves

Instructions
 

  • Beat shortening and sugar; add egg and molasses. Sift together flour, baking soda, salt, ginger, cinnamon, and cloves. Add to shortening mixture. Mix well; add raisins. Shape into balls, roll in sugar. Place on greased cookie sheet and bake 10-12 minutes.
