Delaware Devil’s Food Cake

Ingredients
- 1 pkg. Duncan Hines devil’s food cake mix dry
- 2 eggs beaten
- 1 tsp. almond extract
- 1 21 oz. can cherry pie filling, blended until smooth
- Frosting:
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup whole milk
- 5 Tbsp. butter
- 1 cup milk chocolate chips
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
Instructions
- Combine cake ingredients and pour into 9x13 cake pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 25-30 minutes. Cool cake. Bring sugar, milk, and butter to a boil for exactly one minute. Add chocolate chips. Beat with wooden or plastic spoon until melted. Add vanilla. Pour quickly over cake. Use spatula to spread. Going over only once will look nice and glossy.
