Devil’s Food Drop Cookie

Ingredients
  

  • ½ cup butter
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ½ tsp. soda
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • ¾ cup sour cream
  • 2 (1 oz.) squares unsweetened chocolate melted and cooled
  • Pecan halves
  • Mocha Frosting:
  • 1/4 cup soft butter
  • 2 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 2 tsp. instant coffee regular coffee works just as well
  • Dash salt
  • 3 cup confectioner's sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. milk
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Instructions
 

  • Cream butter and sugar until fluffy; beat in egg and vanilla. Stir in chocolate. Sift together dry ingredients; add to chocolate mixture, alternately, with the sour cream. Drop on cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake 350 degrees for 10 minutes.
  • For Mocha Frosting:
  • Cream butter, cocoa, coffee, and salt. Slowly add in 1 cup confectioner's sugar. Add remaining confectioner's sugar, milk, and vanilla. Beat smooth.
  • Ice cookies with the frosting after they have cooled and add a pecan half on top, if desired.
