Devil’s Food Drop Cookie

Ingredients
- ½ cup butter
- 2 cups flour
- 1 cup brown sugar
- ½ tsp. soda
- 1 egg
- ¼ tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- ¾ cup sour cream
- 2 (1 oz.) squares unsweetened chocolate melted and cooled
- Pecan halves
- Mocha Frosting:
- 1/4 cup soft butter
- 2 Tbsp. cocoa
- 2 tsp. instant coffee regular coffee works just as well
- Dash salt
- 3 cup confectioner's sugar
- 3 Tbsp. milk
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Instructions
- Cream butter and sugar until fluffy; beat in egg and vanilla. Stir in chocolate. Sift together dry ingredients; add to chocolate mixture, alternately, with the sour cream. Drop on cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake 350 degrees for 10 minutes.
- For Mocha Frosting:
- Cream butter, cocoa, coffee, and salt. Slowly add in 1 cup confectioner's sugar. Add remaining confectioner's sugar, milk, and vanilla. Beat smooth.
- Ice cookies with the frosting after they have cooled and add a pecan half on top, if desired.
