Double Brownies
Ingredients
- 1 cup butter
- 4 eggs
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 cup chopped nuts
- 3 cups brown sugar
- 4 tsp. vanilla
- 3 cups flour
- 1 cup butter
- 4 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 cup cocoa
- 12 Tbsp. butter
- 8-12 tsp. milk
- 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
- 5 cups powdered sugar
Instructions
- Bottom Layer: Cream 1 cup butter and 3 cups brown sugar. Beat in 4 eggs, vanilla and 1/2 tsp. salt. Stir in 3 cups flour and chopped nuts. Spread in greased pan. Set aside. Middle Layer: Cream 1 cup butter and 2 cups sugar. Beat in 4 eggs and 1/4 tsp. salt. Stir in 1 1/2 cups flour, cocoa and chopped walnuts. Spread over bottom layer in pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes. Cool. Icing: Melt remaining butter; stir in brown sugar and milk. Bring to a boil. Remove from heat. Cool. Beat in powdered sugar. Frost on cooked brownies. This recipe is a double batch. Enjoy.
