SPRINGFIELD – During the annual Association of Illinois Electric Cooperative (AIEC) Safety and Energy Conference, held Sept. 9-10, Steve Fanning, Adams Electric Cooperative maintenance supervisor, received the AIEC Individual Leadership Award.
Nominated by his peers, Fanning demonstrates safety leadership above and beyond normal safety performance expectations.
Safety is utmost on the minds of electric co-ops and a core value. Fanning creates a culture of safety at Adams Electric and emphasizes the good work habits and not becoming complacent in everyday work.
General Manager Jim Thompson said, “It’s exciting to see Steve recognized with the Safety Leadership Award. He is much deserving and keeps safety priority number one at the cooperative.”
