Granny’s Apple Crisp

  • 6 cups Granny Smith apples sliced (approx. 4-5 medium)
  • 2 Tbsp. orange juice
  • 1 1/2 cups toasted rice cereal coarsely crushed to 1 cup
  • 3/4 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup softened butter
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg optional


  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix apples and orange juice in a bowl. Spread onto bottom of 8x8 square pan or deep pie pan. Combine the rest of the dry ingredients and sprinkle over apples. Bake for 30 minutes or until apples are tender. Serve warm. Makes 8 servings.
