The wiring handbook was developed by the Association of Illinois Electric Cooperative and provides a generic guide for electric wiring. Adams Electric Cooperative’s requirements may vary from this handbook on electric service entrance requirements and for stand-by generators. Please contact an Adams Electric Employee for unique requirements in these areas. The latest addition of the National Electrical Code (NEC) should be followed on all installations. The Member is responsible for working with your electrical contractor or qualified electrician to install the service entrance wiring to code.
The Cooperative follows the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) for its requirements.
We will only energize your meter when the National Electrical Code is strictly followed.
