Sliced Apple Cake

Ingredients
  

  • 1 stick butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 cups sliced and peeled apples Jonathan apples recommended
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • Optional: pecans or walnuts
  • Topping:
  • 4 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 Tbsp. flour

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream together butter, sugar, and eggs. Add apples, flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and nuts (if using). Mix and put in greased 9x13 pan. Combine ingredients for topping. Mix with fork. Sprinkle on apple mixture. Bake for 30 minutes.
