Notes
This is a special recipe of mine from my maternal grandmother, Olga Schubert. She was the daughter of Austrian immigrants and grew up in a tiny hill town in West Virginia. This cake was always served on Thanksgiving. It is a recipe that has been passed down four generations. I like to make it because it is simple, moist, and quite good.
