Split Pea w/Ham
Ingredients
- 1 pkg. smoke shank
- 1 lb. dried split peas
- 1 lb. onions diced
- 1 1/2 cups carrots diced
- 1 qt. chicken broth
- 2 tsp. ground thyme
- 1 Tbsp. minced garlic
- 1 tsp. cayenne pepper
- 2 bay leaves
Instructions
- Put shank in pressure cooker and cover with water. Cook for 30 minutes. Place remaining ingredients in a stock pot except carrots. Cook until peas are soft. Add carrots. Remove shank from pressure cooker. Remove meat and return to cooker. Add liquid and meat to pea mixture. Add salt to taste.
